Toyota? The FJs are pretty cool, I guess.

Too bad they don't seem to make cars that people over 6 feet can fit into.

Boy oh boy, where do I even get started on my extreme rant about DC these days. My main issues with them these days revolve around Jeeps, more specifically the Wrangler type Jeeps, and where they are headed. I am a die hard Jeep fan. Nearly everything I do every day somehow revolves around Jeeps or if not I am at least thinking about them and the Jeep community. I have talked so many people into buying Jeep vehicles that I kinda consider myself a volunteer Jeep salesman. There is alot of talk about the pros and cons of the new Jeeps, and unlike alot of folks out there I believe the new versions will grow on me with time, and they have a ton of nice options. Their advertising is just completely rediculous though. Like I said in the thread, VW already makes a Beetle, and has for quite some time. Why in the ever lovin hell is DC trying to put Jeeps in the same catagory with their new advertising? I also have issues with the fact that everything on them is being changed to plastic, but I can deal with that because the cost of replacing the body panels (like the friggin plastic grille they have now) will be less than steel. The next biggest problem I have with them is that out of the thousands of people I talk to on different Jeep forums, the Jeep Gladiator was the one that most everyone in the Jeep world was waiting on, and they keep kickin the concept to the curb, even though DC knows how high the demand would be for these if they made production. There are thousands of folks out there that have the same opinions of new vehicles as me and that is that I will never buy another "brand new" vehicle of any kind. However, if they would produce the Gladiator I wouldn't hesitate to buy one "brand new". Like I said though, DC knows of this demand, and I read an article the other day that mentioned that they were canceling production on them because they wouldn't be able to compete with the pricing on other trucks in the same class, such as the S-10's and Rangers and that they were basically gonna do what they wanted to do no matter what the thousands, if not millions of people wanted. I just can't believe they have the balls to produce a vehicle like the new 4-door Wrangler (when they already have several 4-door suv's in their lineup) that there wasn't that much demand for it, but they don't have the balls to do something different and produce the Gladiator. What they fail to realize, even though they should know it, is that the Jeep name and the Jeep community is bigger than DC. Jeep is a way of life for a huge amount of people out there, and there are more and more people every day buying their first Jeep and getting hooked from day one. I do realize there are some exceptions, such as yourself, that just looks at them as another vehicle, but I think that is mainly a California thing and I don't think we should all start thinking like Californians.:)

I still try to push Jeeps as much as I can even though I am in no way associated with DC and couldn't live with myself if I was, but it looks to me like they are sure giving Jeep a bad name these days.

I could go on and on for days about the bullshit that DC is doing to the Jeep brand alone and not even mention some of their other products like that ugly ass Nitro that comes from the factory looking like it has been in a crash, but I will just leave it at this for now and I guess go buy me a Toyota when I get ready for a new truck.
